What Does Full Mouth Reconstruction Involve?

We recommend full mouth reconstruction for Long Beach, CA, patients who experience discomfort and impaired chewing function due to multiple dental issues.

To prepare for the process, we carefully evaluate your oral health. This may involve taking x-rays and using technology like intraoral cameras and 3-D cone beam imaging to understand your dental situation. Our dentists and specialists will explain what's involved with your treatment plan, make recommendations, and explain all your options.

It requires a commitment to proceed with FMR because it can take months to complete your treatment plan, depending on your needs. We will listen carefully to your concerns and answer your questions because it's crucial that you feel fully informed and confident about your decision.

Dental Procedures We May Recommend

Full mouth reconstruction may include any of the numerous services we offer; however, the most common treatments we perform with FMR include the following:

  • A patient looking at his panoramic x-raysDental implants — Implants are artificial tooth roots placed in the jawbone and used to support replacement teeth. If you have one or more missing teeth, implants are a highly effective solution that can last a lifetime.
  • All-on-4 implants — We use the All-on-4 method that provides full arch tooth replacement with as few as four implants placed in your jawbone. All-on-4 can replace missing teeth in the upper jaw, lower jaw, or both.
  • Dental crowns — A crown covers the entire visible portion of your tooth down to the gumline. Also called caps, we place them on damaged, decayed, or broken teeth to restore their strength, function, and appearance. If you'd rather not wait two weeks to receive your crown, we also offer same-day crowns similar to CEREC.
  • Fixed bridges — Another excellent tooth replacement we offer is a dental bridge. One or more artificial teeth sit in the gap left by the missing tooth and are supported by crowns attached to teeth on either side for support.
  • Dentures — Full removable dentures replace a full set of teeth missing from the upper arch, lower arch, or both. We may also recommend a partial denture if you have some remaining teeth. Implant dentures are secure and stable because they are connected to implants placed in your jawbone.
  • Invisalign clear braces — Clear aligners are a discreet orthodontic treatment if your teeth are crooked or crowded or have large gaps. Invisalign corrects misaligned teeth and bite issues like overbites and underbites.
  • Periodontal treatment — Untreated, periodontal disease progresses quickly and can lead to bone loss and tooth loss. Our periodontist will get your gum health under control using one or more treatments, including deep cleaning, gum surgery, or bone grafting.
  • Cosmetic dentistry — Cosmetic services like composite fillings, veneers, bonding, and teeth whitening go hand-in-hand with full smile reconstruction to restore your beautiful smile.

Full Mouth Reconstruction Technology

Same day dental crowns technology

Same-Day Dental Crowns

Same-day technology similar to CEREC enables us to provide beautiful tooth restorations like dental crowns, inlays, and onlays in a single appointment. We take comfortable digital impressions that create a 3-D virtual model of your teeth. A milling machine in our office then uses ceramic material to craft your final restoration while you wait.

Our patients appreciate the convenience of same-day restoration because they don't require multiple appointments or temporary restorations. You'll leave our office the same day with your beautiful, natural-looking crown cemented securely in place.
